We can’t believe we’ve already turned 1! It’s been an incredible journey so far, made possible only with all the overwhelming love and support that we’ve gotten from everyone. In celebration we take a look back at some key moments in our journey.

The very first time we got the Grain Traders ball rolling was during Singapore Fashion Week in May 2016. We partnered up with Keepers, a multi-label, local design store located in the heart of bustling Orchard Road, to offer breakfast for industry insiders, entrepreneurs and budding homegrown talents. These people became our #FirstGrainTraders, sampling our Banana Cinnamon oatmeal, as well as our Tequila-Smoked Salmon bagel, as well as some snacks from some of our partners.

Then we got right into the final preparations for our Grain Traders store at CapitaGreen. We wanted to make sure that every single detail of the space was done right, all the way down to the finishing touches. To prepare us for our big launch, we invited passersby on the street to come in for a meal on us, drawing queues round the block. 

Another project that we were thankful to be able to kickstart was #feedingpeopleright. We started with the people whose hands and minds helped to bring Grain Traders together: our partners, contractors, and handymen, without whom we would have just stayed as a plan on paper.

A few months short of our first year anniversary, we opened our second branch at 100AM. It was a space that had been long in the works, and it represented a more mature Grain Traders that still serves up the same kind of quality comfort food that everyone has come to be familiar with.

So here’s to a year of many amazing firsts, and to many more years to come. We’re so thankful and humble to have been able to have come this far, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who’s been a part of our journey in some way or another. We’ll continue to feed and treat people right in the best way we know how, and keep growing, mixing, eating, and loving.
